Ms. Cotman is committed to excellence and takes particular pride in representing her clients to the fullest extent possible. Her extensive courtroom experience combined with her business experience enable her to bring a unique perspective to each client's case.

Her areas of practice during the more than 10 years she has been practicing law are diverse, providing her with the opportunity to apply her business knowledge and experience as well as her extensive court room experience. Her Practice areas include the following: Intellectual Property, Corporate and Business Law, Trademarks, Service Marks, General Business Law, Contracts, Licensing agreements, New entity formations. She also has extensive experience in successfully handling Criminal Defense cases including Felonies and Misdemeanors of all kinds, DUI's, Domestic Violence Cases and White collar crime. Ms. Cotman also works closely with clients to clear up their records through collateral attacks, including motions to terminate probation early, reduce felony charges to a misdemeanor, and expungements.

A graduate of Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Ms. Cotman also has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Chapman University as well as an MBA from California Coast University. She is licensed to practice law in California before all State Courts, Federal Courts in the Southern and Central District, and the US Court of Appeals 9th Circuit.

Ms. Cotman is committed to community involvement and in addition to being the 2008 La Jolla Bar Association President, she has been a board member of the La Jolla Bar Association since 2006, a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, La Jolla Bar Association, and the Lawyer's Club. She has also served on a number of committees with the Lawyer's Club which provides resources for a number of charitable organizations and causes. She also serves as a Temporary Judge in the San Diego Superior Court Small Claims and Traffic Divisions.
